"Electronic dog fence containment systems are a fantastic way to contain your dog or cat. The key to success is a comprehensive install, in which details have not been
sacrificed or overlooked. Most importantly is the training. Training is 70% of the reason why your pet will stay home.
Many customers have tried to purchase DIY dog fence kits
and have failed to make them work. We guarantee the success
of your system which will provide years of trouble free pet ownership."
WHAT’S MOST SATISFIYING ABOUT BEING A HIDDEN FENCE PROFESSIONAL?
Solving escaping issues with dogs. Helping the owner to improve the lifestyle of their pet as well as their own. Every property I visit has a particular challenge or training issue that needs critical attention. Whenever a dog has negotiated a traditional dog fence, and receives reward for doing so, the behaviour becomes significant. It takes an enormous amount of assessment to come up with the appropriate solution to extinguish the existing behaviour. The invisible hidden fence can only provide the consequence (+P); only proper conditioning and clear association can tailor the positive result with maintaining the animal’s welfare.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE BREED OF DOG TO TRAIN TO AN ELECTRONIC DOG FENCE CONTAINMENT SYSTEM, AND WHY?
The German shepherd and the Border collie. Amazing dogs to train. All dogs are endearing to train to electronic dog containment systems, but some are more exciting to watch than others. The most fantastic observation is watching the dogs decide the “choice point”; whereas a reward or temptation is presented to the dog on the outside of its learned boundary and the dog weighs up its options. It’s then that the dog receives its true reward by abandoning its desire for the temptation and reduces its stress level.
Job done.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE HIDDEN FENCE DOG CONTAINMENT SYSTEM TO USE IN THE FIELD, AND WHY?
The PT4 Professional dog fencing system by Hidden Fence. By far the best choice for the consumer.
It has the best features for any experienced trainer to properly train a dog safely to the invisible fence. As a trainer, I can start the dog off at a stimulation setting well below the dogs threshold of discomfort (TOD), and then begin ramping up the stimulation and create proper avoidance carefully and strategically. No other system comes close to the PT4. Not even close.
DO YOU HAVE A GOOD STORY TO SHARE ABOUT CONTAINING A CUSTOMERS PET?
Actually one of the best was one of the easiest. A customer in Brookfield QLD had a Labradoodle who was around one-years old. This dog trained so quickly to the hidden fence. She made a clear association the training flags were coupled with the sound emitting from the collar and glanced around the boundary, wagged its tail and stepped back. When she finally did receive the stimulation from the collar it was set at rate 1/level 1 (which isn’t noticeable to the touch) she tilted her head, stepped back and never returned near the boundary. This property has every conceivable temptation (wallabies, birds, possums, etc) and the dog has never wandered outside its 2-acre play land. That was 4 years ago.
